Qurashi’s avowal termed true reflection of APHC’s stance

SRINAGAR (SANA): Hurriyat leaders welcomed the statement of the Foreign Minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi in which he stated that the dialogue process between India and Kashmiri leadership is futile without Pakistan’s participation.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC), Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, in a statement issued in Srinagar, said that Shah Mahmood Qurashi’s avowal was the true reflection of APHC’s stance.

He said history stands testimony to the fact the bilateral agreements have failed to resolve the dispute over Kashmir. He said that the conflict over Kashmir could be settled through peaceful negotiations among Pakistan, India and Kashmiri leadership.

Senior Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, in his statement said that the dispute over Kashmir could be resolved by implementing the relevant UN resolutions or through tripartite talks keeping in view its historical perspective. He said that India should create conducive atmosphere for tripartite dialogue process to settle the Kashmir dispute.

He said, Pakistan is a primary party to the dispute and the dialogue process without its participation cannot be fruitful.

Senior APHC leader, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, hailing Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s statement said that all the bilateral talks in the past met to failure. He said that India should give up its intransigent stance on Kashmir if it was serious in bringing about a just solution to the longstanding dispute. He said that Pakistan always supported the KashmirisI just struggle and wanted a peaceful resolution of the dispute.

APHC leader, Yasmeen Raja, in her statement, urged India to withdraw its troops from the occupied territory, revoke all the draconian laws and release all the illegally detained Hurriyet leaders and create conducive atmosphere for before initiating dialogue on Kashmir.
