SRINAGAR (SANA): Chairman All Parties Hurriyat Conference Mirwaiz Umar Farooq briefed a senior Japanese diplomat of the prevailing situation in the occupied Kashmir territory.

The First Secretary of the Japanese embassy, Takashi Garcia, who met the APHC Chairman at his Nigeen residence, was briefed about the latest political situation, status of human rights violations and the ongoing indigenous liberation struggle in Jammu and Kashmir.

Later, a spokesman of the All Parties Hurriyet Conference told newsmen that the Japanese diplomat told Mirwaiz Umar Farooq that his country was worried about the situation in occupied Kashmir and wanted India and Pakistan to amicably resolve the long-pending Kashmir dispute.

The diplomat also told Mirwaiz that Japan would like to see Kashmir resolution as per the wishes and aspirations of people of Kashmir,” the spokesman added.
