PM inaugurates Garhi Dupatta College

MUZAFFARABAD (SANA): Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Thursday inaugurated the Government Boys Degree College here at Garhi Dupatta, an area that witnessed widespread destruction following the devastating earthquake on October 8, 2005.

The Prime Minister who flew in to the site from Islamabad said his government was committed to the provision of all basic facilities in the areas affected by the 7.6 magnitude earthquake that killed over 80,000 people in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and parts of NWFP.

Prime Minister Gilani announced upgradation of the college to post-graduate level and also directed that the authorities to speed up the work on the girls campus.

He said health and education were the top priorities of the government and all available resources would be diverted for this purpose.
