Syrian Ambassador calls on Qurashi

ISLAMABAD (SANA): The Syrian Ambassador to Pakistan Dr. Mohamed Riad Hussain Ismat called on the Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi here on Thursday.

During the meeting they discussed various issues relating to mutual and bilateral interests.

The FM Qurashi said on the occasion that Pakistan and Syria enjoyed close brotherly relations and there was a great potential for further strengthening their bilateral cooperation in various fields. He assured the Syrian Ambassador of all possible assistance in this regard.

The Syrian Ambassador said that his country attached great importance to its relations with Pakistan, adding that he was working to further strengthen and diversify the bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

The two sides agreed on early convening of the 6th Session of Pak-Syria Joint Ministerial Commission in Islamabad. They also discussed matters relating to Pakistan International School in Damascus (PISOD) and termed it as a symbol of friendship between the two countries.
