57 militants killed in Bara operation

PESHAWAR (SANA): Political Agent of Khyber Agency has said that paramilitary troops have killed 57 suspected militants in an ongoing operation in the northwestern tribal region, while 107 have been arrested.

After the paramilitary Frontier Corps media briefing Political Agent Tariq Hayat Khan told journalists that nine key centres of the militants and 54 houses were demolished in the operation.

Earlier in the briefing FC official Maj Abid informed the media that a large quantity of explosives and the equipment used for the suicide attacks were captured during the operation.

Moreover, gunships helicopters pound Gagarna and Bazar Zakhakhel areas in tehsil Landi Kotal and destroyed headquarter of the banned outfit Lashkar-e-Islam. Two militants were killed in the firing of the troops.

The forces destroyed six houses of militants in Kamrkhel area, while four dead bodies were found in tehsil Bara.
