23 militants killed in Swat, Dir operation: ISPR

ISLAMABAD (SANA): Security forces killed 23 terrorists while five other were apprehended from Swat and Dir during the last 24 hours of ongoing military operation.

In Swat, forces in a search operation at Kanju area engaged terrorists hiding in the nullah and killed five of them, said an update issued by the ISPR on Thursday.

Security forces conducted clearance operation in Meragai area and demolished two terrorists’ hideouts and recovered heavy weapons from there.

Forces have consolidated their positions around Shah Dheri and during exchange of fire with terrorists in the area 17 militants were killed.

In Dir, tribal Lashkar conducted house to house search near white mosque of Ghaziage at Upper Dir.

Forces conducted search operation around Chakdara and apprehended three terrorists and recovered weapons from their possession.

In South Waziristan agency, militants fired three rockets from Mandan on Jandola Fort in which no loss of life or damage reported.
