Extension in deadline for vehicle registration demanded

ISLAMABAD (SANA): The people of various wake of life demanded of the government to extend deadline for the registration of vehicles.

According details, Punjab Excise & Taxation department through a press advertisement issued 28 June asked the public to get their motor vehicles transferred in their own names. It may be recalled there has prevailed a trend to keep vehicles on open transfer letters. But now the authorities decided to discourage this practice in view of terrorist acts continuing in the country.

However, it is felt that there is need to extend the deadline for vehicle transfers to three months. So, the people could easily apply for vehicle transfer in their own name.

Hence, Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shabaz Sharif and Finance Minister should take notice of the issue and order extension in deadline for vehicle registration for another there months’ up to August 31.

In the meanwhile, the Excise & Taxation Deptt should also launch an awareness campaign to convince the masses to get their vehicles transferred in their own names in their own interest.
