Pak-turkey agrees to further strengthen relations

ISLAMABAD (SANA): Pakistan and Turkey have agreed to strengthen bilateral relations in the fields of trade, energy, tourism and other fields.

Both the countries stated that they have cultural, historic and brotherly relations which will be further strengthen in future.

Addressing a joint press conference Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmed Daud Oglu said on Monday that there are vast chances of cooperation between the two counties.

Qureshi welcomed the Turkish foreign minister on his 1st visit to Pakistan after taking charge of the ministry.

Both the foreign minister stated that Pakistan and Turkey have also agreed to strengthen relations in the fields of defence, economic and economic fields.

Both the countries agreed to establish Economic Embassy Division in foreign affairs which would be helpful to strengthen economic relations between the Pakistan and Turkey.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that both the countries have agreed to hold a regional conference in Turkey in November 2009 in which neighbouring countries of Afghanistan would be invited to talk about the security, peace and stability of the region.

Talking on the occasion Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmed Daud vowed to support Pakistan at every time of difficulty, adding that Turkey will continue supporting Pakistan at international forums.
He also vowed to extend every possible support to solve the problems of IDPs of Malakand division.

He said that the Turkish government has given 100 million dollars to Pakistan government for the rehabilitation of IDPs.

Prior to their press conference foreign ministers of Turkey and Pakistan hold one on one meeting and discussed opportunities and chances of cooperation in various fields including education, tourism and energy ambassador of Turkey in Pakistan was also present during the meeting of foreign ministers.
