Special incentives to be granted to senior citizens
ISLAMABAD (SANA): The government is considering a proposal to grant special incentives to the senior citizens of the country.
Official sources in Islamabad said that the proposal envisages the establishment of a Senior Citizen’s council after the enactment of Welfare Senior Citizens Bill.
Giving details of the proposed facilities, the officials said that besides financial assistance to the poor and destitute Senior citizens, welfare homes will be set up for them.
Similarly the Senior Citizens will be given concessions in utility bills, income tax and traveling within and outside the country.
The officials said that apart from free medical treatment at hospitals, special facilities will be ensured for senior citizens at banks, airports, railway stations, jails, police stations and public entertainment places.
