AJK PM Sardar Yaqoob calls on Asif Zardari
ISLAMABAD (SANA): Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan called on President Asif Ali Zardari here Friday.
He discussed with the President the economic development projects and latest political situation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The President inquired from him the status of the various development projects in AJK particularly those relating to the rehabilitation of Mangla Dam affectees and the development of new Mirpur city.
The President said that he would like to have regular progress report about the various development projects in AJK.
He directed that the issues relating to the settlement of people affected of the raising of Mangla Dam be sorted out on a priority basis and the efforts made be stepped up.
He said that he will advise the federal government to assign Chairman WAPDA to ensure speedy rehabilitation of the affectees.
The President also advised the Advisor Finance to remove into the difficulties in the release of the development funds to AJK and expedite the same particularly with respect to development of the new Mirpur City and four other townships.
The Prime Minister of AJK thanked the President for his keen interest in the development of Azad Kashmir.
Praising the Kashmir policy of Pakistan the AJK Prime Minister said that it would help move forwarded the process of Kashmir related dialogue between India and Pakistan.
President Asif Ali Zardari said that Pakistan has always been committed to extend political, moral and diplomatic support to the people of Kashmir in their struggle for the right of their self-determination.
Qamar Zaman Kaira, Federal Minister for KANA was also present during the call.
