Mirwaiz calls for unity

SRINAGAR, Nov 28 (SANA): Chairman of Hurriyat Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has said unity among the pro-freedom leaders was imperative to the resolution of the long-standing Kashmir dispute according to aspirations of Kashmiris.

In a statement, Mirwaiz said due to sacrifices of Kashmiris, the dispute has been highlighted internationally.

“Every pro-freedom leader and organization has played a big role in carrying forward the ongoing freedom movement. Kashmiris should feel indebted to Peoples Conference particularly its founder, Shaheed Abdul Ghani Lone for his sacrifices for the movement,” he said.

Mirwaiz said as caretaker on the freedom movement, it is the responsibility of Hurriyat Conference to ensure unity among its constituents.

Mirwaiz also condemned the killings of civilians in the Mumbai blasts.

“I condemn the attacks in Mumbai which caused heavy loss of innocent civilians. As victims of state terrorism, Kashmiris can understand the pain of families of the victims and express sympathies with them,” Mirwaiz Umar said.
