Plan to restrict foreigners to Diplomatic Enclave

ISLAMABAD, Nov 02 (SANA): The government has decided to restrict the activities of foreigners to Diplomatic Enclave in the Federal Capital.This has been decided to provide security and ensure safety of the foreigners in the city for the purpose 1,000 apartments would be built and Capital Development Authority (CDA) has started initial work.

After the construction of shopping centers and apartments at Diplomatic Enclave, outside stay of any ambassador or other staff of an embassy would be banned.

The ambassadors and other staff members of any diplomatic mission who were living in other sectors of the federal capital would be shifted to Diplomatic Enclave.

Sources told SANA that 1,000 apartments and shopping centers will be opened to provide daily use commodities to these foreigners.

The Chairman of CDA last week had a meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari in Islamabad to tell him about the arrangements which were being taken for the security of the foreigners.

According to the sources various foreign missions living in various sectors of Islamabad have decided to shift in diplomatic enclave due to security reason and plots to these embassies already have been allotted.

CDA has set different by-laws for making these buildings of foreign embassies instead of existing rules for making buildings in various sectors of Islamabad.
